Who is this workshop for?
These workshops are for everyone from nervous novices to seasoned climbers who’ve lost their confidence. If you need a little extra support to find your love of climbing again and overcoming fears then this is for you.
I have asked a number of people why they have lost their confidence in climbing, or haven’t climbed for a while.

* “I felt pressured to do things that I wasn’t comfortable with, I was given a belay device, given five minutes to learn how to use it, and then my friend started to climb. It was too much pressure and didn’t feel right. ”
* “I started it and quite liked it, but the people I was going with were climbing really hard grades and often I felt really rubbish next to them, I was so weak and I didn’t seem to be making any improvements. I guess I just didn’t find my community”
* “I haven’t got anyone to go climbing with that I trust to belay me”
* “I’ve got a fear of falling, I hurt my ankle climbing outdoors a few months back and now I’m finding it hard to want to continue climbing, and I’ve started to get panic attacks which make me freeze, it’s really scary”

What does the workshop entail?
- A refresher of skills – great for those who’ve not been climbing for a while
- creating attainable goals to work towards, and fostering a supportive and encouraging environment that enhance feelings of competence and trust
- working through falling practice slowly and keeping it only ever at a level you feel comfortable with
And whatever you’d like to work through and achieve!
Duration
Indoors – 3 hours
Outdoors – 4 hours
Location
Indoors – Haverfordwest Leisure Centre, and Overhang Climbing Centre in Carmarthen are my local walls, but I can travel to other walls upon request and availability.
Outdoors – There are a number of suitable venues around Pembrokeshire, Ceredigion and Carmarthenshire

Cost
Groups of up to 4 bookings – but there must be a minimum of 2 booked onto the course to ensure it is viable for me to run it.
Small group sessions are great to allow for a quieter space to work through anxieties at your pace.
If you are an individual looking to book onto the course, and can’t find any keen mates to book on too, then please give me some time to find another person to book onto the workshop. Alternatively, you may be interested in the 1:1 session that I run.
